Still loving all-white looks this summer. It’s perfect for days where you can’t bother to think about co-ordinating your top and bottom because you can just throw on everything anything white.
Wondering what I’ve been up to when I’m not blogging, on Instagram, or on Tumblr? Read about what I’ve been up to as Couturesque‘s Social Media Director in their latest article. Thanks for all your support! ❤
This is my “art student well-versed in post modern art history” look. I wore this look to see the Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition at AGO and I felt so fresh and so clean clean. Very into baggy pants right now. It all began with the purchase of mom jeans but now I’ve moved on to these perfectly tailored peg leg trousers by Topshop. If you are also tired of skinny jeans/jeggings and boyfriend jeans are too casual/hobo for you, loose trousers can be your best friend.
I will probably move on to culottes next…if you have any recommendations, please comment below!
P.S. If I’m not blogging I’m on instagram or tumblr so feel free to creep me on there <_<
Some (all) people would call me a shoe-aholic. But I’m trying to live that minimalist life right now so I haven’t purchased shoes in a couple(lol) months. When Capezio shoes contacted me to tell me that I won their MTV Fora giveaway, I was literally astounded. Girls/guys, that’s 6 pairs of new shoes. Not to mention, I ordered 2 pairs of sandals the previous night so 8. pairs. of. new. shoes. These Shellys London sneaker heels were one of the prizes and they are seriously glowing right now. So amaze. Wow. I have to thank the shoe gods, Capezio Shoes and MTV Fora for making my shoe dreams come true!
And yes, hair is shorter. I love the asymmetrical one-length cut that my hair stylist from the Aveda hair school did. I’m still figuring out how I should style it but I’m probably the laziest person with my hair so airdrying4ever.

Last week, a few friends and I went to Snakes and Lagers to relax and get our game on. If you have heard of Snakes and Lattes, it’s a similar concept except it’s a bar where you can play board games and grab a drink, the perfect pairing.
I felt like wearing my new Topshop top made of a neoprene-esque material that day. I’ve been lusting after a structured white top and this fulfilled all my *structured* and *minimalist* desires. I really like the classic t-shirt and pants look for a casual evening out. And the heels totally speak for themselves.
Teen angst… or young adult angst? I didn’t intend on looking so angry/worried/emo but I guess that’s what happens when you wear plaid, mesh, and leather. I’ve had this plaid chiffon dress for a couple of years but I didn’t wear it until I hacked off the bottom two ruffles because short people problems. Now it’s a cool midi length dress that can be worn with platform sneakers, heels, or flats.
This weekend I attended Hot Docs, an annual international documentary film festival that takes place in Toronto. I enjoy the occasional documentary on Documentary Heaven or the Passionate Eye but I was blown away by the ones I saw at the festival this year. If you are interested, I saw The Overnighters, Return to Homs, Lady Valour, and Rich Hill. It was quite eye-opening to see people living in situations that were different from my own but I could still relate to the struggles and joys they felt on their journey (aka I shed many tears during all of them). For the summer, I have my eye on a new release at Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, Web Junkie, which is about the internet addiction as a clinical disorder in China.
Apologies on the blog neglect that’s been happening the past couple of weeks, I went back home for a while and I didn’t find an appropriate setting for my blog photos so I didn’t end up blogging. Hope you are all well 🙂 x
Since it’s getting a bit warmer in Toronto, (although it snowed yesterday so who knows what the hell is going on), I thought it was time to break out my faux leather jacket again. I got it on sale at H&M two and a half years ago and it’s still going strong! I really love the asymmetrical zipper and the stitching detail on the shoulder and elbows. I’ve also been eyeing up white leather jackets (here & here) because they look very crisp and clean but still edgy.
I decided to tie my flannel around my waist because >> Zoe Kravitz <<. Purple hair, slouchy tops, vintage ray bans…what more do you need?
Recently, her style has become more structured and tailored but it still has a badass rocker vibe. She’s definitely one of my style inspirations because she always looks effortlessly cool. I saw her in Divergent and was pleasantly surprised at how well she portrayed the character, Christina. Teen movies and novels are a guilty pleasure, but if you enjoyed the Hunger Games, you might also enjoy Divergent.
P.S. Is it still considered part of the Uniforms segment if the repeat piece is the hidden camisole I wore underneath my sweater in the last post? Let’s just go with it.
Going along with the Uniforms theme, today’s repeat piece is the wilfred top I wore in my previous post. I think owning a black faux leather skirt is a staple in a 20-something girl’s wardrobe. Whether it’s midi or mini, it’s definitely one of my go-to night out looks. I plan on wearing this evening look later tonight when I grab drinks with a couple of friends at Cold Tea to wind down before the 8-hour studying days begin. Speaking of studying , I should really get back to that.
